Happy FITHH !
Here are my addendums to Fleurs dans la chambre, Juillet style:
It's a purple/blue group-lavender( hidcote), petunia ( run-of-the-mill purple), clematis ( angel wings), and whatitsname.
Yes, it's in a Mamie Eisenhower pinkish 1940s bathroom.
With burgundy trim. Go figure. It's my Achilles heel here :)
Technically, these are flowers in the back vestibule-and this has been our temperature in the afternoons ( or arvos for you Aussies) for weeks now.
Real pansies last a long time here, alas, they can never make it through the OR winters. These temps make me feel like I am back in TX. Love it.
The last of my white spring pansies-see, I told you they last forever here, with our cold nights-with marigolds from my veggie garden ( for the tomatoes) and sunflowers from the wildflower mix out in the backyard.
Did you know that the first garden strawberries were grown in France?
Here's my fave one this year-I didn't grow it, just bought it in a bunch at Whole Foods. I laughed when I took it out of the package, because to moi, it looks like a strawberry butt ( I have been teaching middle-schoolers much too long a time, eh?)
It didn't make it into my morning yogurt. Yet.
First, I had to immortalize it on the internet. :)
My one and only black-eyed Susan from the wildflower mix.
Not French at all, but since they named her after me, well, hey.
To me, the interior always looks like a group pf stars clustering a black hole.
Enjoy the rest of the hot, hot summer of July and August.
Skip the temptation to buy sweaters and school supplies that are on sale
way too early, IMHO.
Be here-in the moment-now.
Enjoy the fleurs...
